Benalzine magazine returns for the third time to its meeting with the Benalmádena International Short Film Festival. On this occasion it does so in digital format to pay tribute to two world film figures who left us in 2019 and 2020: French filmmaker Agnès Varda and Czech director Jirí Menzel, who delight us with their presence in previous editions of the old SICAB and the current FICCAB, respectively. Exponents of the new French and Czechoslovak waves of the 1960s, the careers of both artists always stood out for their defense of creative freedom and a deep cinematographic sensitivity, with emblematic works such as Cleo from 5 to 7 or Trains strictly monitored, they occupy a remarkable place in the history of the seventh art.
