The actress Álex de la Croix will receive the Interpretation Award at the Benalmádena International Film Festival

The International Benalmádena Film Festival (FICCAB) will award the 'Interpretation Award' to the actress, director and activist queer Álex de la Croix in recognition of her artistic career. This award highlights his remarkable participation in the film 'I'm loving you madly. ' and in the series 'The one coming. ', as well as his recent nomination to actress revelation at the Carmen 2024 Awards.

The Gaditan actress will receive the 'Interpretation Award' that distinguishes the trajectory of actors and actresses from the national landscape. The award, which will be delivered at the closing gala on Saturday, October 26, at 20: 00, at the House of Culture of Arroyo de la Honey, was awarded last year to Dani Rovira and in previous editions to actors and actresses such as Salva Reina, Nathalie Pozas, José Mota, Luis Tosar, Loles León, Karra Elejalde or Malena Alterio.

Álex de la Croix has built a solid career in the film and television field, merging his work as an actress and director with his activism within the queer community. ' and its role in 'The one coming They have consolidated him as one of the most prominent figures in the current landscape, also obtaining public recognition and criticism with his nomination to the Carmen de Andalucía Awards.

FICCAB will also pay tribute in its closing gala to the director, writer and producer Arantxa Echevarría, who will receive the City of Benalmádena Award. The filmmaker, awarded the Goya Award for the best new direction for her film 'Carmen y Lola', has consolidated her career with outstanding works such as' The Perfect Family ',' Chinas', 'Politically Incorrect' and her latest premiere, 'La Infiltrada'.

During the same gala, the best short films selected in this festival edition, which has had 29 projects covering genres such as fiction, documentary and animation, will be awarded.

These awards are in addition to the awards that will be brought during this edition to Benalmádena to figures as respected from intermational cinema as Canadian filmmaker Atom Egoyan, Malaysian filmmaker Jose Antonio Hergueta and actor Fernando.

The tickets to the projections are free of charge until complete capacity. The invitations for the galas are withdrawn at the House of Culture the day before the gala, from 10: 00 and 17: 00. An invitation quota shall be reserved for each time section.

Linked to art, fashion and cinema, Álex de la Croix has left its mark on the cultural scene since the 2015 foundation of La JUAN Gallery in Madrid, a space that combines performance with visual arts. His first short film as director and actress, 'Privilegada' (2020), has been nominated at festivals in Spain, the United States, Australia and Latin America.

As an actress, he has featured in 'Rainbow' of Paco León and in several seasons of 'The Coming' playing the role of 'Karma'. At present, de la Croix is in the post-production phase of his second short film "Domingo de grams" and in the process of developing his first feature film as director and writer, consolidating itself as one of the most promising voices of Spanish cinema.
