Raúl was born in Madrid, beginning his career in animation at the age of 19. He was a cheerleader in modern classics like The Bella and the Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King, The Horobado of Notre Dame, Hercules and Pocahontas.

After Fantasy 2000 Raúl worked as a sequence director for the Paramount in films like The Rugrats in Paris, The Thornberries movie and Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius nominated an Oscar for the best animation film.
In 2002 he joined Kandor Graphics as creative director, with the award-winning short film Tell Tell Heart, and shortly after as co-writer and director with his partner Manuel Sicilia in the film The Lost Lince.
