The curtain of the Casa de la Cultura de Arroyo de la Honey is about to rise so that the magic of the cinema will involve the waiting audience in the event hall; so that the focus of the stage will illuminate the face of great actors and actresses, directors, filmmakers and professionals of the sector, who will come to our municipality from different points of the national and international landscape. Everything is ready for the start of the great International Short Film Festival of Benalmádena, the prestigious and famous FICCAB 2023.

As mayor of Benalmádena, it is an honour for me to welcome this audiovisual show, which reaches its twenty-second consolidated edition as an essential quote among industry professionals, cinephiles, fans and lovers of the seventh art, and which will make our city the epicenter of the cinema in the province of Malaga. Benalmádena is preparing to welcome actors and actresses of the size of Dani Rovira or Ana Belén, and to receive well-known professionals at the international level such as the daring German filmmaker Volker Schlöndorff, actress María de Medeiros or Armenian filmmaker Harutun Jacatrian.

It will be eight intense days of recognition and tribute to the film industry, with a wide and varied programme of events made by a great team of organizers, to whom I wish to convey my thanks and congratulations. Thanks also to all the sponsoring companies that one more year have supported FICCAB, a festival that I invite to meet all our neighbors and how many tourists visit us during these days.
